Chu Bench & Stool

This cherry bench was originally designed and built as a wedding gift for my sister-in-law and her husband. I've since made a few additional ones of varying lengths. The stool is made from stock leftover from the benches and follows the same assembly methods.

The seat planks are angled inward toward a the center stretcher that forms the spine of the bench. This provides a gently contoured seat for comfort. (The tops of the stool are flat however.) The legs clamp the stretcher between them and support the ends of the planks.
